Today is our last Ask Advisori session of 2017! In order to celebrate that, we wanted to talk about the 5 lessons learned that have made 2017 our best year yet!
Now before we dive into the five lessons learned, I wanted to share with all of you the biggest accomplishments that Advisori has seen this year:
- The biggest win was that 2017 has been the best year Advisori has had! We had the largest revenue, the best clients, and the partnerships we have created- all made this a year to remember!
- Another win is that we landed one of the largest clients in our market and we can’t wait to continue to work with them in 2018!
- Advisori Insiders was started in 2017 and we have such an amazing group of members! We can’t wait to see where this goes in the future.
- Last but not least, and a bit of a personal one for me, is that this year I was able to be happy, excited, and focused on what I wanted to accomplish. This is different then the first year that Advisori started when I was fearful and anxious. Check out how I accomplished that below!
OK, so how did we go about accomplishing all of those awesome things in 2017?! By using these 5 lessons, of course!
Boundaries are OK and in fact really good! There is this perception that we need to be available 24/7, which means that we are consistently reacting and putting out fires instead of being productive.
One of the best things that I have done is to take my work email off of my phone so that I am not always bombarded with updates. I also never give out my cell phone number to clients. They have my work number and they know they can reach me through that line.
Own it! For most of us, we could probably shout to the world how amazing our friends are. However, when it comes to talking about ourselves- we have nothing to say.
Now, I want you to OWN whatever you are doing- in business or in life. When you are first getting started and as your business grows, you have to spread the word and share how amazing you and your business are!
Competition is OK! One of the biggest things in 2017 that changed for me is getting out of this mentality of fear. These fears were creating overwhelm and anxiety and nothing was getting accomplished.
In 2017, I really worked on creating this mentality of abundance and being OK with competition. Make sure that you aren’t getting discouraged about your competition, because your business is unique and you don’t need to be focusing on whatever the competition is doing. You need to focus on your business and your goals and decide what is best for you!
Be OK with walking away. What I mean by this is that if something you are doing is not right or not a good fit, walk away. If you are trying something new in your business, and it is not working, you need to make sure that you are OK with walking away and moving on.
The same thing if you are a service based business. If you have a client that just isn’t working out or fitting into your goals, it is OK to walk away! It also is completely OK to walk away if someone isn’t willing to pay what you are worth.
Invest in your business! This was a BIG one for me! In 2017 I started working with a Virtual Assistant and it has made a huge difference! Remember that everyone has different strengths and weaknesses so if you aren’t very good at something (or maybe you just don’t enjoy doing it) then it is OK to outsource.
And investing in your business doesn’t just mean hiring help, it can also mean doing something like joining a mastermind where you are investing in your business to learn expertise that is going to grow your business exponentially!
