What is reach and why is it a big deal? Reach is the number of unique people who see your content. It is important because your fans and customers can’t take action if they don’t know your content exists.
Depending on which article you read and the constant changes in Facebook’s algorithm, the number of fans who see your posts and content organically (without paying for it) is usually 2-16% of your fans. That shouldn’t be a big surprise since Facebook has become a “pay to play” platform, but you still want to reach as many people without paying as possible!
Here are a few tricks we have found to increase the number of fans who see our posts without having to spend money:
- Post at times with less competition, later in the evening or early morning, or when your target audience is likely to use Facebook.
- Post on Instagram first and share it via Instagram to your Facebook page.
- Limit hashtags within the description.
- Don’t tag/link other Facebook accounts in the description of your post.
- Have a call to action within the description. Ask the audience to share it with someone they know could benefit from or find what you’re sharing interesting.
