Today we are talking all about how to beat Facebook’s Algorithm, or at least understand how to make it work for your business!
One thing that is really important to understand about the Facebook Algorithm is that it is just like any other mathematical equation. That means that the more Facebook knows and understands your business, and the more data they have, the better the results are going to be. When you are running Facebook and Instagram Ads for your business, and you are only spending $5-$10, you usually are not giving Facebook the data it needs to optimize your goal.
A great example of this is when businesses start out by placing ads with the objective of conversions. The issue is that usually they are not getting enough conversions, or spending enough money, to give Facebook the data it needs to optimize for conversions. If you are going to run conversion ads for your business, you have to be getting a minimum of 20-50 conversions per week to have Facebook be able to optimize for these conversions.
Again, just like any experiment, the more data that Facebook’s Algorithm has, the better the outcome is going to be. If you are just starting out, and you are not getting those 20-50 conversions per week, then you should start with just traffic ads.
Now, NONE of this matters if you don’t have a pixel installed on your website. Even if you don’t plan on running ads now, you should have a pixel on your website so that they can start collecting data which will eventually benefit you when you do decide to invest.
I often see businesses trying to spend money and get conversions (from the very beginning) and then they get frustrated when they only get 1-2 conversions and see no return. Make sure you are setting yourself up for success by giving Facebook’s Algorithm the data it needs first.
