Today I want to share with you 3 tricks that will help you increase your conversion rate.
Before we get to the 3 tips, let’s first cover what exactly conversion rates are. Conversion rates is how many people actually land on your page that “convert” or take the action that you want them to.
For example, if you have an e-commerce site and out of every 100 people that visit your site, 2 of them actually purchase then your conversion rate would be 2%. Or if you have an email opt-in and for every 100 people who visit your lead page, 50 people opt-in to your lead magnet, then your conversion rate is 50%.
Conversion rate has the biggest influence on what you are paying for your cost per lead or cost per sale.
Now, the first tip to help increase your conversion rate: Make sure that your landing page and your website have the same design/style as your ad.
You want your landing page to have the same look and feel as your ad. If your language or style is completely different from your ad then it will not convert as well.
If you are running tests on multiple ads with different styles, you don’t need to create all different landing pages for each ad (during the test phase). Instead, test the ads and determine which one has the highest conversion rate and then you can edit your landing page to reflect that ads look and feel.
Tip number two is that if you are running a lead magnet or an opt-in campaign (this is where you are typically giving something away for free), the thing that is going to help you get a high conversion rate is by asking for the least amount of information from your visitor.
For example, if you really only need to know their email address and first name- then just ask for that. If you start asking for their last name, age, company they work for, location etc. then each of these is going to decrease your chances for a high conversion rate- which is going to increase the amount you will have to spend!
Tip number three to help increase your conversion rate. This tip is specific to e-commerce clients. E-commerce has a super low conversion rate, however by re-marketing and offering free shipping it will help you convert those potential clients into buyers!
In fact, studies show that customers would rather have free shipping then be offered a discount! Free shipping is a powerful thing.
Another thing that e-commerce sites can do, is by having a clear return policy. Having a policy that is simple and straight forward, like free returns, will help your potential clients take a chance on your products and try them out.
There you have it, the three tips that you can use to help increase your conversion rate.
To recap, you want to make sure that your ad and landing page look like each other. Second, when you are running a lead magnet or opt-in page, you will want to ask for the least amount of information. And finally, for e-commerce make sure that you offer some kind of free shipping and have a clear return policy in place.
